 Privilege or Opportunity to do good

 ‘…Whatever is right…think about [it]…’ Philippians 4:8 NIV

Today’s Insight

People and circumstances don’t determine your attitude, you do! To win in life you must learn to focus on your opportunities to do good and not your rights. Paul wrote from a prison cell, ‘Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.’ Clearly, circumstances could lock Paul in, but they couldn’t keep him down.

One of the biggest causes of discontent is our constant struggle to ‘secure our rights’. Have you been wronged? Do you feel like you haven’t received a fair shake? That’s because you live in an imperfect world. And as long as you do, you won’t see a time when everything you do is justly rewarded. So you’re faced with a decision: Are you going to spend your time and energy on what should have been, or get over it and focus on what can be? Even when truth and justice are on your side, you may never be able to correct all your wrongs.

But ultimately God will, so leave it in His hands. Continually ‘fighting for your rights’ just makes you angry and resentful, because these destructive emotions sap your energy and make you negative. And besides, when you focus on your rights you’re usually looking backward. You can’t make progress when you’re facing the wrong way!

Life Application: 

Only when you focus in the right direction will you move in the right direction. Now this doesn’t mean you won’t experience pain; it just means you choose to forgive, and zero in on what you can control: your attitudes and your opportunities.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for your Word today. Lord, I come before you with a humble heart. Lord I thank you for your Word because it gives me an opportunity or privilege to do good to others. I trust you Lord that whatever I planted goodness on others especially by sharing or helping them I believe it will not return void but it will accomplish to what is purposely to be. Lord allow me to see myself how to receive your goodness in my life so that I will be a person that you want me to be that is to add values and encourage others to do the same because when we doing something good for others they will see your goodness also in my life thus they will inspire and desire to know you more Lord. Thank you for using me  to take advantage of the opportunity or privilege to show and act on the goodness that you have extended to me. Lord empowers me to continue to do the noble things for the good of others so that we can minister to them your Word and your Gospel of Salvation for your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. In order to grow in your faith with God please do these consistently starting today; 1. Pray always 2. Read your Bible Daily 3. Attend Church Services Regularly 4. Attend Prayer Meeting, Bible Study, Church Seminars and make God first place in your life with your talents and finances 5. Lastly, witness Jesus to others that they may receive Eternal Life also.
