HOW DO YOU REACT WHEN YOU ARE CRITICIZED?
“He did not retaliate when he was insulted.” 1Pe 2:23 NLT
Today’s Wisdom
When it comes to constructive criticism, try to learn from it and grow wiser. When it comes to unjustified criticism, remind yourself that Jesus was criticized too, so you’re in good company. And when you’re tempted to give in to resentment and strike back, read these Scriptures: “If you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly” (vv. 20-23 NLT).
There’s an interesting story about Abraham Lincoln. During the Civil War he signed an order transferring certain regiments, but Secretary of War Edwin Stanton refused to execute it, calling the president a fool. When Lincoln heard this, he said, “If Stanton said I’m a fool then I must be, for he’s nearly always right, and he says what he thinks. I’ll step over and see for myself.” He did, and when Stanton convinced him the order was in error, Lincoln quietly withdrew it. Part of Lincoln’s greatness lay in his ability to rise above pettiness, ego, and sensitivity to other people’s opinions. He wasn’t easily offended. He welcomed criticism, and in doing so demonstrated one of the strengths of a truly great person: humility. So, have you been criticized? Make it a time to learn, not lose.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. You Word is so powerful that can heal my pain and heartache even when I received criticism. Lord thank you for teaching me to be humbled in all matters even it is my right to react but you oh Lord is my shield and defender of every battle I face. Lord teach me always to be calm and be matured when facing criticism for I believed Lord that If I wait on you and follow your Word I will be victorious in the end. Teach me to trust you always! in Jesus Name. Amen!
Prayer for Salvation
Lord I admit I am a sinner, I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word that He promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. In order for you to grow in your faith with God please do these consistently starting today; 1. Pray always 2. Read your Bible Daily 3. Attend Church Services Regularly 4. Attend Prayer Meeting and Bible Study and serve God first place in your life with your talent and resources 5. Witness Jesus to others that they may receive salvation too.
