DON'T USE YOUR FEELINGS IN DECISION MAKING

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY BY by Bro. Rolly Custodio

DON'T USE YOUR FEELINGS IN DECISION MAKING
“Use your head and test your feelings.”  Php 1:10 TM

Today’s Insight

God gave you feelings, and you should never be ashamed of them. They can alert you to danger and give you insight into various situations. God actually uses our feelings to draw us closer to Him and highlight areas in our lives that need to be submitted to His Holy Spirit. But feelings are subjective; you can’t always trust them. One counselor says: “When old feelings creep back in we feel fearful, ashamed, hopeless, not good enough, unlovable, victimized, helpless, and resentful…An event can trigger these reactions…ending a relationship, stress, problems on the job and at home, times of change or illness…and sometimes these feelings return for no reason.

” So you must “test your feelings,” otherwise you’ll end up living “a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God” (Col 3:5 TM). It can be disastrous to act on what you see, hear, and feel. Instead of reacting to feelings, you must learn to act on what God’s Word says. That’s the gold standard, and it never changes! For instance, even if you feel like you can walk on water, you can only do it if God has called you to step out of the boat.

Application

Paul says, “My prayer [is] that [you]…abound…in knowledge and…insight…that you may be able to discern what is best” (Philippians 1:9-10 NIV). Bottom line: You’re not defined by your feelings; you’re defined by what God says about you. You may feel worthless, but God says, “You are precious to me …I love you” (Isa 43:4 NLT). You may feel like a failure, but God says, “There is…no condemnation for those…in Christ” (Ro 8:1 NIV).

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me to be sensitive in our decision. Thank you that you have a Word that we rely on to check our decision making. Allow your Holy Spirit to supply all the wisdom when I make crucial decision in my life  so that Lord I will not make mistakes involving my feeling but always involve your Word. Because Lord, as David says is the lamp to my feet and a guide to my path. Lord thank you for reminding me to trust always your Word and not feelings so that I will walk according to your plan and decision for your for your glory in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. LEARN TO WAIT (PART-1)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY BY with Ptr. Rolly Custodio

LEARN TO WAIT (PART-1)
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous.”  Ps 27:14 NLT

Today’s Insight

It’s in looking back that we realize:

(1) God had something better in mind for us.

(2) We weren’t mature enough at that point to handle what we were asking Him for. Wethink we’re ready, but God knows when we are.

Over forty times in the Bible we’re commanded to “wait on the Lord.” Learning to wait is a test of maturity.

Scott Peck writes: “Delaying gratification is a process of scheduling the pain and pleasure of life in such a way as to enhance the pleasure by meeting and experiencing the pain first and getting it over with… It’s the only decent way to live.” Waiting forces us to accept that we’re not in control. It humbles us in ways we need to be humbled.

Consider the trapeze artist: For a split second, which must feel like an eternity, he or she is suspended in nothingness. They can’t go back, and it’s too soon to feel the grasp of the one who’ll catch them. They must wait in absolute trust. You may be at that same point in your life right now.

You’ve let go of what God called you to let go of, but you can’t feel His hand catching you yet. Moses waited eighty years for a ministry that lasted forty years—two-thirds of his life was spent getting ready! Jesus spent thirty years preparing for a ministry that would last three and a half years.

Application

From God’s perspective, your life isn’t measured by its length but by its effectiveness and its impact for His kingdom. So wait, and keep a good attitude while you’re doing it. God won’t disappoint you.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for inspiring me to wait on your answers for I believe that you have a better plan and a better decision in my life. Thank you for giving me a spirit of patience to trust you because I believe that you have the best plan for my future. Allow your holy Spirit to inspire me and give me a spirit of humility and while I am waiting allow your Holy Spirit to empower me with His joy and Lord teaches me to follow your Word so that I have better decision and that I will not commit mistakes and suffer for a lifetime but you have a good and better plan for me and not for calamity but for welfare. Lord thank you for protecting and guiding me. Let you Spirit penetrates inspires my life that I can make decision in line with your Word for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. Be Always Joyful In Your Old Age

Sunday, 7 June 2015

Word of Hope for Today with Ptr. Rolly Custodio

Be Always Joyful In Your Old Age
“They shall still bear fruit in old age.” Ps 92:14 NKJV

Today’s Insight

Age is just a date on a calendar; attitude is what counts. You can be old at twenty-nine and young at ninety-two. Larry King once interviewed Ty Cobb, one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He asked Cobb, who was now seventy years old, “What do you think you’d hit if you were playing these days?” Cobb, a lifetime .366 hitter (still the record) replied, “About .290, maybe .300.” King asked, “Is that because of travel, the night games, the artificial turf, and all the new pitches like the slider?” Cobb responded, “No. It’s because I’m seventy!” Here are three great benefits to having lived longer:

(1) You are more tolerant. Having fallen into many of life’s potholes yourself, you’re quicker to extend a helping hand when others fall into them. Having survived defeats and lived to fight another day, you’re qualified to offer strength and hope to those who struggle.

(2) You are more humble. A guy who had just celebrated his fiftieth wedding anniversary said, “A man is always as young as he feels, but seldom as important.” Realizing that the world doesn’t stop at your command or cater to your whims, you become more realistic. And in the process you find peace.

(3) You value time. Margaret Deland said, “As soon as you feel too old to do a thing, do it.” Start by asking yourself, “If not me, who? If not now, when?”

Application

Here’s a promise from Scripture you can stand on: “They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.” Now get up off the couch and get going.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for reminding us that we should enjoy life even we approaching to our old age. And Lord teach us that we to become wiser than before. Lord helps us to realize that our days are numbers and give us wisdom to help those younger generations to be wiser, stronger,  motivated and more courageous to defend their faith. Lord as we traverse my days makes me to be a role model to all young comers that they may enjoy their life too be serving you for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

The Lord Jesus is our Comforter (Part-2)

Word of Hope for Today with Ptr. Rolly Custodio

The Lord Jesus is our Comforter (Part-2)
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.”  Isa 66:13 NKJV

Today’s Insight

When you’re troubled, remember:

(1) God’s comfort is real. Do you recall being sad or afraid as a child? And do you remember feeling the comfort of your mother’s presence? God’s comfort is even more real than your mother’s was then. “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” God’s more concerned about you now than your mother was in your childhood. “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast…? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” (Isa 49:15-16 NIV).

(2) The Comforter lives in you. When we’re suffering, God seems distant and inaccessible. But He’s not. Jesus resolved that concern for His anxious disciples—then and now. “I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (Jn 14:16).

(3) Scripture brings comfort. The apostle reminds us “that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Ro 15:4).

Application

You can always count on God when you need comfort! The Holy Spirit who forever abides in you is closer to you than the air you breathe. He’s equipped, willing, and able to comfort you. He will sometimes do it by reminding you of a verse from a hymn, a line from a poem, a sermon you heard, etc. When He does, believe it. Say to yourself repeatedly: “The God of all comfort lives permanently in me!” When you’re down, you may not feel like reading the Bible. Do it anyhow. It’ll bring you the comfort you long for.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for giving and sending the Holy Spirit in my life who always comforts me. Thank you that you have a Word in the Bible that you promise to come if we believe. Lord thank you for the perfect peace and real comfort in my life. Lord I believe in your Word that if we ask the Holy Spirit to help me He will be there to comfort me and He is always there to strengthens me and guides me  to walk worthy in your presence for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

The Lord Jesus is our Comforter (Part-1)

Word of Hope for Today with Ptr. Rolly Custodio

The Lord Jesus is our Comforter (Part-1)

“He comforts us every time we have trouble.”2Co 1:4 NCV

Today’s Insight

Of all the names given to God in Scripture, none is more consoling than “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles” (vv. 3-4 NIV). Notice the words “all comfort.” That means there are no exceptions and no limitations to God’s comfort, no matter how dreadful your circumstances. Comfort is God’s name and nature; it’s who He is and what He naturally wants to do! You can’t get close to Him and not be comforted.

Lack of comfort results from a disconnect with God—usually the result of a faith deficit. Comfort comes by faith. You can know intellectually that He’s the “God of all comfort,” but not feel comforted because of your doubts. Jesus instructed the blind man who came for healing, “According to your faith be it unto you” (Mt 9:29). “Knowing” needs the addition of “believing” before you’ll experience comfort. Feeling follows faith, not vice versa!

Suppose you’re taking your first ocean cruise and have some concern about safety. The captain assures you he’s a qualified veteran and the ship’s the latest version available, equipped with modern communications and safety equipment. If, like too many Christians, you refuse to believe him until you first feel the comfort, you’ll probably disembark or spend the entire voyage unnecessarily sick with worry.

Application

But if you make up your mind to believe the captain’s word, you’ll soon feel the lessening of anxiety and the presence of comfort! Today, decide to trust the “Captain of our salvation” who is Jesus and who promises to “comfort us in all our troubles,” and you’ll experience the comfort He provides.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for giving me perfect peace in my life and experience the comfort that no one can give and it is you only Lord though we are facing challenges but you are there in my side to comfort me. Lord let your Holy Spirit comforts me and empowers me to do things that pleases you. Lord makes me an instrument of your peace and comfort so those who are looking for perfect peace and comfort that they may feel and find the peace that surpassing understanding and guards their heart through Christ Jesus for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

DON'T BE AFFECTED BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND NEGATIVE PEOPLE BUT W/ GOD YOU CAN DO IT!

Thursday, 4 June May 2015

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

DON'T BE AFFECTED BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND NEGATIVE PEOPLE  BUT W/ GOD YOU CAN DO IT!
“We can certainly do it.”  Nu 13:30 NIV

Today’s Insight

After seeing the giants in the Promised Land, ten of Israel’s twelve spies came back and said, “It can’t be done.” But the other two, Joshua and Caleb, said, “It can.” But because of Israel’s unbelief, Caleb had been forced to spend forty more years wandering through the wilderness. And by the time the Israelites crossed the Jordan River he was eighty years old. Then another five years passed before the various tribes of Israel were assigned land to occupy. Here’s how Caleb described it all years later:

“I was forty years old when Moses…sent me…to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions, but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly” (Jos 14:7-8 NIV).

If you’ve a negative attitude when you’re forty, there’s a good chance you’ll have one when you’re eighty-five. Actually, there’s a good chance you won’t even make it to eighty-five! Psychologist Martin Seligman studied several hundred people in a religious community; he divided them into quartiles, ranging from the most to the least optimistic. Ninety percent of the optimists were alive at eighty-five, while just 34 percent of the naysayers made it to the same age.

Application

Twelve spies went out, but only Joshua and Caleb had the faith to say, “We can do it.” And forty-five years later Caleb was as feisty as ever! Want to guess what happened to the other ten spies? They died. None of them made it to Caleb’s age. Bottom line: Faith and optimism can add years to your life.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for giving me insight not to be affected by any circumstances, problems and even negative people because you are our torch and banner and warrior who will defend us and give us victory. Lord allows your Holy Spirit to inspire and give us wisdom, knowledge and positive attitude towards any problems that we are facing that we may in control and have faith in your Word  because i believed that you defeated already our  enemies and we are more than conqueror right now. Lord gives us the courage to continue to trust you and your Word when facing any challenges so that we may yield our faith in you and we believe that we may not affected by any negative people but with our faith and courage to face any circumstances we can have victory because you are with us for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved.
