WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN INTERPRET THE BIBLE
“We have the mind of Christ.”1Co 2:16 NLT

Today’s Insight

When your mind is not open to the Holy Spirit, you cannot understand God’s Word. So if you find reading the Bible unrewarding, try this: Before you open your Bible, open your heart and pray, “Holy Spirit, show me what I don’t see and teach me what I don’t know.

” Paul writes: “It was to us that God revealed these things by His Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.

And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom…we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths…It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, ‘Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?’ But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ” (vv. 10-16 NLT).

Application

The Bible isn’t like any other book. Its author is the Holy Spirit, therefore when you approach the Bible you must ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and give you understanding. He will!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for sealing me your Holy Spirit during the time when I surrender my life to you, you promise in Ephesians 1:13 that the Holy Spirit sealed us and we are now adopted as your children (John 1:12). Thank you Lord for this wonderful promises and I believe by faith in your Word that this is the real truth. Lord from this moment on I will not hear and listen to the wisdom of this world rather I will listen to your Wisdom or Word from the Bible that we may live worthy of our calling  for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. In order to grow in your faith with God please do these consistently starting today; 1. Pray always 2. Read your Bible Daily 3. Attend Church Services Regularly 4. PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-4)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-4)
“No man cared for my soul.”Ps 142:4

Today’s Insight

The people you seek to influence in life always ask themselves: Do you care about me? Think about the best experiences you’ve had with people in your own life. What do they all have in common? They genuinely cared about you, right? And what’s wonderful is, you can broaden your ability to care about others outside your social circle. Regardless of your profession, when you help people you make your life andtheirs better. Let’s listen to some observations by successful people from various backgrounds.

Business. “You can’t make the other fellow feel important in your presence if you secretly feel that he’s a nobody” (Les Giblin, former national salesman of the year and popular speaker).

Politics. “If you would win a man to your cause, you must first convince him that you are his sincere friend” (President Abraham Lincoln).

Entertainment. “Some singers want the audience to love them. I love the audience” (Luciano Pavarotti, legendary Italian opera tenor).

Ministry. “The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have” (Norman Vincent Peale, pastor and author). The Psalmist wrote, “No man cared for my soul.” And deep down some of the people you deal with every day feel that way too.

Application

Whether you’re trying to share your faith, do business with them, make friends, or help them in a particular area, you must prove to them that you truly care. It takes time, effort, and even sacrifice, but if you’re serious about connecting with others you’ll do it. Chances are somebody did it for you, and it helped determine the person you are today. So do it for others!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for showing to us that others in our life is very important for without taking care of them we are not in our position. It is for them that we become successful because as you have said that if we take care for unfortunate and orphan you are there to support us and that is truly religion. Lord we pray that we many no only take care of their needs but we pray we still continue humble ourselves and serve them with love and share your good news for their salvation as what you have taught and commission us for your glory for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-3)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio
PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-3)
“Take an interest in others, too.” Philippians 2:4 NLT

Today’s Insight

John Craig says, “No matter how much work a man can do, no matter how engaging his personality may be, he will not advance far if he cannot work through others.” That requires you to see value in other people. This truth is understood worldwide by successful people from every walk of life.

At an international meeting of company executives, an American business person asked an executive from Japan what he regarded as the most important language for world trade. The American thought the answer would be English. But the Japanese executive, who had a more holistic understanding of business, replied, “My customers’ language.” Having a good product or service isn’t enough. Becoming an expert isn’t enough. Knowing your product but not your customers just means you’ll have something to sell and no one to buy. Furthermore, the value you place on people must be genuine.

Leadership coach Bridget Haymond writes, “You can talk until you’re blue in the face, but people know in their gut if you really care about them.” If you want to connect with others you have to get over yourself, change your focus from inward to outward, away from yourself and onto them. And the great thing is, you can do it. Anyone can. All it takes is the will to change, the determination to follow through, and a handful of skills anybody can learn.

Application

The motivation to learn can be found in these words from the apostle Paul: “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” When you look for opportunities to invest in others, you’ll find them.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me not to look for my interest only but to consider the interest of others so that in our planning or in our business no one will hurt but everyone is benefited. Lord than you for this powerful Word. We may fail in the beginning because our ego will be hurt if we consider first others but I believe you will give me strength to stand strong in serve others for their interest and the long run in my life or business it will pay off for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-2)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-2)
“Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.”  1Co 10:24 NKJV

Today’s Insight

Great leaders often have great egos, and therein lies great danger. In The Empowered Communicator, Calvin Miller uses the form of a letter to describe this problem and the negative impact it has:

“Dear speaker, your ego has become a wall between yourself and me. You’re not really concerned about me, are you? You’re mostly concerned about whether or not this speech is really working…about whether or not you’re doing a good job. You’re really afraid that I will not applaud, aren’t you? You’re afraid that I won’t laugh at your jokes or cry over your emotional anecdotes. You’re so caught up in the issue of how I’m going to receive your speech, you haven’t thought much about me at all. I might have loved you, but you’re so caught up in self-love that mine is really unnecessary. If I don’t give you my attention it’s because I feel so unnecessary here. When I see you at the microphone, I see Narcissus at his mirror…Is your tie straight? Is your hair straight? Is your deportment impeccable? Is your phraseology perfect? You seem in control of everything but your audience.

You see everything so well, but us. But this blindness to us, I’m afraid, has made us deaf to you. We must go now. Sorry. Call us sometime later. We’ll come back to you when you’re real enough to see us…after your dreams have been shattered…after your heart has been broken…after your arrogance has been reckoned with despair. Then there will be room for all of us in your world. Then you won’t care if we applaud your brilliance. You’ll be one of us.”

Application

When you train yourself unselfishly you don't have to worry when you deliver a message before your audience and whatever their comments will not affect you because your focus is to encourage them and motivate them by using the powerful Word of God which is the truth. We believe that being humble or unselfish servant are ready to receive God's Word and believe it.  Our success is always come from God and the audience or people work with you were sent by God as your co-laborers and it's the Lord Jesus is our role model for being unselfish. When you train and practice humility and unselfishness the courage explodes and your confident in God rises up.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for giving me confident in your Word . As you have said those who humble will be lift up and those who lift themselves will be humbled. Lord thank you for giving me strength and wisdom that it is not a shame for us to practice ourselves unselfish character that we may establish our solid relationship to others. Allow your Holy Spirit to comfort and encourage me to remain humble while I am serving you for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-1)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

PRACTICE YOURSELF BEING UNSELFISH (Part-1)
“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”Php 2:5 NLT

Today’s Insight

Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too” (v. 4 NLT). Spiritual maturity is the ability to see and act in the best interests of others. Immature people have difficulty seeing things from someone else’s point of view. They rarely concern themselves with what’s best for the other guy. In many ways they’re like children. In “Property Law as Viewed by a Toddler,” Michael V. Hernandez describes the world from a typical child’s viewpoint:

(1) If I like it, it’s mine.
(2) If it’s in my hand, it’s mine.
(3) If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
(4) If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
(5) If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
(6) If I’m doing or building something, all the pieces are mine.
(7) If it looks like mine, it’s mine.
(8) If I saw it first, it’s mine.
(9) If I can see it, it’s mine.
(10) If I think it’s mine, it’s mine.

Unfortunately, maturity doesn’t always come with age; sometimes age comes alone. You must fight your inherent selfish attitude, and that can be a lifelong battle. But it’s an important one, because if you don’t win you’ll end up focused on your own agenda and overlook other people. Unless somebody’s important to your cause or your interests, they won’t get your time or attention.

Application

The Bible says, “Youmust have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had,” and everything He did, He did for others. Bottom line: If you’re serious about following in His footsteps, practice being unselfish.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me to be humble ourselves and to look for the good of others. Lord strengthens me to serve you and others without any personal motive but only to serve you. Allow your Holy Spirit to remind me always to practice myself being unselfish that others may be blessed because you Lord lives in me for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

LET YOUR LIFE A LIVING TESTIMONY

Wednesday, 27 May 2015

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Ptr. Rolly Custodio

LET YOUR LIFE A LIVING TESTIMONY
“Let your light so shine before men.”Mt 5:16 NKJV

Today’s Insight

A reporter once said to Joe DiMaggio, the famous baseball player, “You always seem to play with the same intensity. You run out every grounder and race after every fly ball, even when the Yankees have a big lead in the pennant race and there’s nothing on the line. How come?” DiMaggio replied, “I always remind myself that there might be someone in the stands who never saw me play before.”

That’s the kind of unselfish mindset you must maintain in order to influence others for good and for God. It takes energy and intentionality, whether one-on-one or in a group, but it pays dividends.

Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, was drawn to Christ because he’d listened to His teachings and observed His works from afar. He may have come to Jesus at night to avoid ridicule, but the fact is, he came because he couldn’t stay away! (See Jn 3:1-21).

The Bible says you’re  “a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you” (2Co 3:2 TM). Today someone is watching how you handle problems; how you treat your family and your employees; how you act when the boss isn’t around; how you respond to criticism or temptation. Don’t disappoint them. Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Application

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Mt 5:14-16 NKJV).

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for reminding us that our life is like a living letter. Many will not hear our words but they will follow us if they see our life how we speak, act, behave and relate to them. Lord help us realize that we are not an ordinary people but we are your family and children who initiates goodness to others that they may know you Lord that you are a progressive God and that you want us to change and improve our life because we knew that someone are watching us and see us as their model. Lord empower us to walk in righteousness and become a person that you want me to be a living Word and witness for your glory In Jesus’ Name.
