The Three Ultimate Questions When Going to your Destination

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Bro. Rolly Custodio

The Three Ultimate Questions When Going to your Destination
“Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get.”  Eph 5:15-16 TM

Today’s Insight

Following a plan is like using a GPS device (Global Positioning System). If it knows where you are, you tell it where you want to go, and it creates a personalized road map. The difference between a GPS and you, is you have to create all your own turn-by-turn directions. Mark Twain said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting the first one.” To reach your destination you must ask yourself three questions:

(1) What’s my present position? It’s impossible to ignore the reality of where you are right now and still be successful. The former CEO of General Electric observed, “Strategic management is trying to understand where you will sit in tomorrow’s world, not where you hope to sit; it’s assessing where you want to be, and where you can be.”

(2) What’s my desired destination? Write down what your dream will look like when you’ve achieved it. Henry J. Kaiser, founder of Kaiser-Permanente health care system, said, “The evidence is overwhelming that you cannot begin to achieve your best unless you have some aim in life.”

(3) What are the in-between steps? Don’t expect them to be quick or easy. Creativity is messy. It’s far from an exact science. But unless you know where you want to go and identify the steps that will get you there, ten years from now you’ll still be where you are today. So the word for you today is: “Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get.”

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you that you are there for me looking and watching me that you see to it that your dream for me will match on what I am intended to go to. The Commandments from Above (Part-8)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Bro. Rolly Custodio

The Commandments from Above (Part-8)
“You shall not covet.”  Ex 20:17

Today’s Insight

In the last of the Ten Commandments, God told His people: “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house...[nor] your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Coveting means grasping and craving for things that don’t belong to you. Haddon Robinson said, “Covetousness is simply craving more of what you have enough of already.” It’s why Paul writes, “Godliness with contentment is great gain” (1Ti 6:6).

In his book of sermons, Feminine Faces, Dr. Clovis Chappell writes: “When Pompeii was being excavated there was found a body that had been embalmed by the ashes of Vesuvius. It was that of a woman. Her feet were turned toward the city gate, but her face was turned backward toward something that lay just beyond her outstretched hands. The prize which those frozen fingers were reaching for was a bag of pearls. Maybe she herself had dropped them as she was fleeing for her life. Maybe she had found them where they had been dropped by another. But be that as it may, though death was hard at her heels and life was beckoning to her beyond the city gates, she could not shake off their spell. She turned to pick them up, and death was her reward. But it was not the eruption of Vesuvius that made her love pearls more than life. It only froze her in this attitude of greed.” There’s nothing wrong with wanting more in life, as long as you’re enjoying the things God has already given you, and you’re sharing them with others.

 Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for reminding us that we should not be greedy for accumulating things in our life but we must be content of what we have so that we will not be looking for those things that we haven’t but instead sharing those things that I have. Lord teaches me to be content always in my life because Christ is more than enough against anything that we are looking for. Lord helps me to overcome in my life not to be greedy but to share of what I have to the needy so that I can testify how good you are to them your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. The Commandments from Above (Part-7)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Bro. Rolly Custodio

The Commandments from Above (Part-7)
“You shall not give false testimony.”  Ex 20:16 NIV

Today’s Insight

The ninth commandment says, “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” Why do we lie? For lots of reasons: to escape the consequences of our actions; to avoid paying our dues; to create a false image; to convince others we’re something we’re not. But it doesn’t work; time and truth force deception to surface—literally!

In 1996 the body of the former ambassador to Switzerland was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, America’s resting place for war heroes. The granite tombstone read, “S1C [Seaman First Class] U.S. Merchant Marine.” But according to investigative reporters Don Van Natta Jr. and Elaine Sciolino in a 1997 issue of The New York Times, cemetery workers hauled the tombstone away and exhumed the casket. The reason? The man lied. For years he told others he’d served on the Coast Guard ship Horace Bushnell during World War Two. He said the Germans torpedoed the ship and he’d been thrown overboard, sustaining a head injury. But the record shows that at the time he said he was serving in the Merchant Marine, he was actually attending Wilbur Wright College in Chicago. The Coast Guard had no record of his having served in the Merchant Marine, or having earned the rank of Seaman First Class.

Somehow the lie wasn’t discovered when the State Department investigated his background and he was made an ambassador. As a result, his remains were buried in Arlington Cemetery, and his tombstone engraved with a lie. But the truth came out, as it always does, and posterity now knows the facts. Think about that, the next time you’re tempted to spin a story that’s less than truthful.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for sharing this Word that as Christian we should speak always the truth and don’t give any false testimony for our neighbors. Lord empowers me to love my neighbor and to love your Word. As you have said Lord that your Word  is truth and make a simple wise. Lord puts us the tag of truth in our life as we serve you for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

The Commandments from Above (Part-6)

WORD OF HOPE FOR TODAY by Bro. Rolly Custodio

The Commandments from Above (Part-6)
“You shall not steal.”  Ex 20:15 NIV

Today’s Insight

The eighth commandment says, “You shall not steal.” Think how strange this commandment must have seemed to the Israelites. As a nomad society, thieving and looting had always been acceptable in their culture—even expected. But God said, “That day is over. Stealing distorts your priorities. It makes things more important than people. It violates the rights of others by saying, ‘I’m more important than you.’ So from this day on I want you to be rigorously honest in all your dealings.” But there’s another kind of stealing, the kind some Christians think nothing of practicing. The Bible says: “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops...the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit...Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land’” (Mal 3:8-12 NIV). When you rob God, you end up robbing yourself. “Robbing myself of what?” you ask:

(1) God’s blessing in your life.
(2) His protection when times get tough.
(3) The privilege of sharing His goodness with the people around you.

Is it really worth it? Think about it!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you that you share your very commandment of giving that we should be the first in all our blessings that we received. Lord remind me not to steal my teaths for this is Holy and belongs to you. Lord you are the first in my life and because you of your sacrifice to us to pay the penalty of sins and free us from any condemnation and subject ourselves for unquensible fire. Lord thank you for teaching us not to rob the tithes because it is belong to. When we are faithful in our tithing to you as you have said Lord that you will pour out blessings from heaven until we have no room enough for it and Lord you teach us that if we give our business and work will no devour anymore and you will protect our living as you have promise in your Word. Lord empowers me to give and this giving Lord that love motivates us so that we will not be hurt every time we give. Lord thank for you for you are our Model and you are the first who give by giving your life to us. Lord allows my life to be a generous giver always for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
