Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

Rise Up Again, God Is on Your Side
‘…He rose up and went into the city.’ Acts 14:20 NKJV

Today’s Insight

If you’re going through a hard time, read these words: ‘Then Jews…came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city’ (Acts 14:19-20 NKJV). Notice two phrases: ‘supposing him to be dead’ and ‘he rose up.’ Paul was stoned but not silenced; beaten but not defeated. ‘We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed’ (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV). Imagine Satan standing over Paul like a referee standing over a boxer who’s on the canvas. On the count of nine Paul gets up and says, ‘I may be down, but I’m not out!’ He was a defiant optimist, a self-encourager who knew how to lift himself and those around him.

One day in the heat of battle, Lord Nelson’s enemies flashed him a signal to surrender. Picking up his telescope and placing it to his blind eye, he announced, ‘I can’t see any sign of surrender!’ During World War II, Churchill warned the French that, if necessary, Britain would fight on alone. Their generals sent him a telegram saying, ‘In three weeks, England will have her neck wrung like a chicken.’ Undeterred, Churchill took to the airwaves and announced, ‘We shall never, never surrender!’ He lifted Britain up by its bootstraps! After the war, Churchill addressed the Canadian Parliament. Wearing his hallmark, bulldog expression and waving the telegram, he announced, ‘Huh! Some chicken, and some neck!’

The word for you today is – rise up again, God is on your side.

Parallel verses: Judg 9:34 – 11:40, Mark 8:27-38, Ps 129, Pro 20:25, Ecc 5:4-6

Focus on Praising the Lord (Part-2)

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

Focus on Praising the Lord (Part-2)
‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.’ Psalms 150:6 NKJV

Today’s Insight

Solomon says there’s ‘…a time to keep silence and a time to speak’ (Ecclesiastes 3:7 NKJV). Now, you shouldn’t interrupt the church service and draw attention to yourself, but when it’s time to praise God you should give it 100 percent: ‘I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart’ (Psalms 9:1 NKJV).

The story’s told of an old man named Joe, who’d been a drunk and a derelict most of his life and, as a result, he could barely make ends meet. During a Sunday morning service he gave his life to Christ and the transformation was so radical that everybody in the congregation noticed it. Joe had a problem, however; he was so thrilled with Jesus that he sang louder than everybody else. And when the pastor made a point that touched his heart, he’d jump up and shout, ‘Hallelujah!’ Concerned that the dignity and decorum of the church were at risk, the pastor said, ‘Joe, you’ve got to be quiet. As a matter of fact, if you’ll just sit in church next Sunday and say nothing, I’ll buy you a new pair of boots.’ Joe needed the boots, so he said he’d try. But after restraining himself through several high points in the sermon, he couldn’t stand it anymore. He jumped up and shouted, ‘Boots or no boots, I’m gonna praise the Lord!’

You say, ‘But I’m the quiet, reserved type.’ Sorry, there are no exceptions based on personality types. ‘Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!’ In other words, unless you’re dead, you’re supposed to praise the Lord!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for giving me always fire in my heart to praise you because this is the way we are made of to praise you. As you said Lord in your Word that when there is no one will praise you, you will give breath to a stone in order to praise you. Lord make my life a Praising One and become my way of life wherever I go and whenever I am alive I will praise you always as my appreciation to all your goodness to my life and my family. Lord I decided in my life that as for me and my household we will serve and praise you until end of my last breath for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. It is God’s Word promise in John 3:16 that if you trust His Son Jesus you will not die but you will have Eternal Life. Welcome to the family of God. Focus on Praising the Lord

Sunday, 18 May 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

Focus on Praising the Lord
‘I will bless the Lord at all times.’ Psalms 34:1 NKJV

Today’s Insight

If you shout your lungs out at a ball game on Saturday, but sit silent and subdued when it’s time to worship God on Sunday, maybe you’re more excited about sports than spiritual matters. Ouch!

A great definition of worship is ‘worth-ship’. What worth do you place on God and on your relationship with Him? You say, ‘But sometimes I don’t feel like praising God.’ Feelings have little to do with it! A good relationship isn’t based on emotion but on commitment. The Bible says, ‘…Let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name’ (Hebrews 13:15 NKJV). Note the words ‘continually’ and ‘sacrifice’. With God, the praise that costs is the praise that counts! Imagine someone with a good job, a good family and good health praising the Lord in church. Now imagine somebody living alone, shut in by sickness, who raises his or her feeble arms and lifts their voice in praise. Which of them is making the sacrifice?

The Psalmist said, ‘From the rising of the sun unto its going down, the Lord’s name is to be praised’ (Psalms 113:3 NKJV). This Psalmist scheduled praise breaks throughout his day: ‘Seven times a day I praise You’ (Psalms 119:164 NKJV). We have tea and coffee breaks; he had praise breaks! If you want to change your environment and your attitude, start praising God throughout the day. Not only will you bless the Lord, He will bless you in a hundred and one different ways. Don’t take anybody else’s word for it – try it and see!

Parallel verses: Gal 5:22, Luke 6:27-36, Exo 23:1-9, Rom 12:14-21

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for reminding me that matters most in my life is giving you praise and worship you in all my undertakings. Though sometimes I am not feeling well but you oh Lord is my strength and my focus is giving you praise throughout every day of my life. Lord thank you for giving me this opportunity to worship and give you praise with my family let this be our focus in life to give you glory In Jesus’ Name.

Perfect Timing for Fulfillment of Your Dream

Saturday, 17 May 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

Perfect Timing for Fulfillment of Your Dream
‘There is a time for everything… a time to weep and a time to laugh. ’Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 NIV

Today’s Insight

Optimists tend to believe that life is mostly good; pessimists, that it’s mostly bad. Life is both. And only those who embrace that truth are able to find fulfilment. Why? Because those who accept it but don’t embrace it become apathetic, meeting every difficulty with a shrug and a sigh. They may survive, but they won’t be successful.

To succeed in your dreams you must be proactive, in bad times as well as good. If you examine the lives of successful people you’ll discover they always do what’s right no matter how they feel, and by doing right – they end up feeling good. On the other hand, unsuccessful people tend to wait to feel good before they do what’s right. As a result, they neither do what’s right nor feel good. Often you won’t feel like doing the right thing, but you need to do it anyway.

Nelson Mandela said: ‘I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one finds many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom come responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.’

If you always do the right thing – despite how you feel, despite what others may say or do in response – you will be satisfied with yourself. And that, at the end of the day, will do a lot to determine whether you feel fulfilled.

Parallel verses: Col 3-4, Philemon, Luke 23:44-56, Ps 13, Pr 21:22-27

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me how to act rightly and not arrogant even the storms or pressures are against me. Lord strengthens me to be gentle in all my response to my detractor or enemies for I believe that in your perfect time you will vindicate me and give me favor in order to advance  the mission or race that you set before me for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. Act on the Most Priority

Friday, 16 May 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

 Act on the Most Priority
‘There is a time for everything.’ Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Today’s Insight

Urgency is stressful. It’s also addictive and, if you find yourself habitually reacting to outside demands, you may be ‘hooked’. Like any addiction, urgency temporarily meets your need to feel needed. It creates a sense of ‘getting things done’, falsely enhances your self-esteem, yet tends to make problems worse because mostly ‘haste makes waste’.

If you’re hooked on urgency, here are two things to consider:

(1) In today’s society, busyness equals status. People expect you to be in demand. But while constantly abandoning your goals to help others accomplish theirs may make you feel appreciated, it can sidetrack you from your real purpose and create in you a false sense of importance. The Bible says, ‘God gives ability to all for their particular service’ (1 Corinthians 12:6 GNT). The lion’s share of your time should be spent doing what God called you to do, not fulfilling the demands and expectations of others.

(2) Identifying your response pattern can help set you free. Sometimes it’s hard to say ‘no’ because as a Christian you feel obligated. But not every ‘need’ is a directive from God to jump in and meet it! Try to be discerning. Your decision to get involved should come from God, so before you react, pray for wisdom and guidance. The Bible says, ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV). If you’re a ‘fixer’ you probably enjoy solving problems, meeting needs, and influencing behavior as well as outcomes. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. You just need to recognize you’re vulnerable to the urgent, and become more priority-minded.

Parallel verses: Deut 5-7, Mark 4:1-12, Ps 37:1-7, Pro 11:24-26

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me how to manage my time and how to work in priority basis so that I can finish things that you want me to do. Lord empowers me to accomplish things which are priorities so that I will not waste time which is not matters most but most of all on the priorities that you want me to do so that I will not miss something which are very important to your kingdom  for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

In order to grow in your faith with God please do these consistently starting today; 1. Pray always 2. Read your Bible Daily 3. Attend Church Services Regularly 4. Life’s Principles When You Are Working

Thursday, 15 May 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

Life’s Principles When You Are Working
‘…do it all in the name of the Lord…’ Colossians 3:17 NIV

Today’s Insight

Observe Three Principles:

(1) You can have more, as long as you don’t want it all for yourself. In a generation whose motto is ‘Look out for number one,’ we need to be reminded that ‘Christ did not please himself’ (Romans 15:3 NIV). He didn’t live to enrich Himself, but to enrich others. You won’t find a speck of selfishness in Him. He’s worthy to be called ‘Master’, because He first mastered Himself by denying Himself and living for others.

(2) You can get almost anything done, as long as you don’t care who gets the credit. ‘Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.’ Pride brought Satan down and it will bring you down, too. Ivan O Miller quoted, ‘Humility is such a frail and delicate thing that he who dares to think that he has it, proves by that single thought that he has it not.’ When you succeed and the accolades start coming your way, enjoy them briefly. Then pass them on to the true source of all your accomplishments – God.

(3) You can hasten the answer, as long as you don’t despise the source. Naaman the leper discovered that you can have what God offers, but on God’s terms, not yours (2 Kings 5:1-14). And God’s terms are ‘faith’ and ‘obedience’. Faith is like electricity: you don’t have to analyse or understand it to enjoy its benefits. All you have to do is plug in! What has God told you to do? Obey Him! Stop wavering, stop procrastinating, stop arguing with Him and do what He tells you. You’ll love the results.

Parallel verses: Deut 3-4, Mark 3:23-35, Ps 2, Pro 11:22-23

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me how to work and making a living in the environment of competition. Lord thank that we should focus on enriching others and always humble in all my undertakings because I am not working for men for you oh Lord. Lord thank you for the opportunity to work so that I can get my living to sustain our family needs. All that we take Lord is belong to you and that we are grateful for you because you provide everything we need the strength, ability and attitudes toward my works. Allow and use me to bless others while I am working  for your glory In Jesus’ Name.

WAITING IS BEING PATIENCE (PART-02)

Wednesday, 14 May 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

WAITING IS BEING PATIENCE (PART-02)

‘…I will wait, ’til my change comes.’ Job 14:14 NKJV

Today’s Insight

Before you quit and give up in discouragement, consider the long and difficult process by which a butterfly emerges from its cocoon. If you try to rush God’s purpose and process in your life, you’ll produce something deformed, something that can’t get off the ground and fly. Perhaps you’re thinking, ‘I can’t wait for this to be over.’ That’s understandable. Job couldn’t either. He said, ‘All the days of my hard service I will wait, ’til my change comes.’ But by God’s grace he survived, and ended up with twice as much as he lost.

So hold on, your change is coming! God won’t give up on you, so don’t give up on Him! There’s a work going on in you right now. Something is dying that has to die, so that something better can be brought to life. Let it happen. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego told a king, ‘We will not bow down to your gods’ (Daniel 3:18). Don’t bow to temptation, or to manipulation, or to ungodly persuasion. Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses, or surrender to selfish ambition and self-promotion. Don’t bow to the spirit of anxiousness and impatience. Continue to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that ‘…[God] is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we are able to ask or think…’ (Ephesians 3:20 KJV).

They say, ‘Good things come to those who wait.’ The determining factor is Whoyou are waiting for. God says there’s a purpose for all these things (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Wait, God will make the pieces fit together. He won’t disappoint you.

Parallel verses: Acts 16-17, Mark 1:23-34, Ps 7:1-9, Pro 11:3-6

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for teaching me to wait on you and I trust you Lord that with waiting I will develop tremendous patience to carry the task or mission that you want me to do. Lord strengthens me and allow me to stay patience and to walk by faith knowing that you are arrainging everything in my behalf. Lord thank you for being patience with me and I believe that in your perfect time you will change the way you want me to be a good and faithful servant. Lord use me as an instrument of your blessings and share your goodness and being patience with them so that they can also see your goodness through for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation
