MEETING WITH GOD

Wednesday, 23 April 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

 MEETING WITH GOD

‘…I saw the Lord sitting on a throne…’ Isaiah 6:1 NKJV

Today’s Insight

Isaiah describes a life-changing encounter he had with God at the start of his ministry: ‘…I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up…Above it stood seraphim…And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of Him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King”…Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal…from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” And He said, “Go, and tell this people”…’ (Isaiah 6:1-9 NKJV).

Meeting with God always brings three things:

(1) A sense of His holiness and our lowliness.
(2) An acknowledgment of our inadequacy.
(3) Humility, and a hunger for more of Him.

The wear and tear of daily life dulls the sharp edge of our spiritual sensibilities. And measuring our holiness by those around us just lulls us into thinking we’re living a committed life when we’re not. So God calls us to meet Him to cleanse us, empower us, and send us out to fulfil His purposes.

JESUS’ VICTORY IS FOR OUR SALVATION (PART-2)

Monday, 21 April 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

JESUS’ VICTORY IS FOR OUR SALVATION (PART-2)

‘… He made a public spectacle of them…’ Colossians 2:15 NIV

Today’s Insight

Can you imagine the victory laps that Satan and his demonic host were doing the day Jesus was crucified? They really thought that they had stopped the greatest mission in history. They were convinced they had ended the salvation plan of the Father. Lying in a cold dark tomb was their evidence – God’s only Son, broken, bruised, dead.

But the deceiver was deceived. As Philip Yancey writes, ‘In the most ironic twist of all history, what Satan meant for evil, God meant for good.

Jesus’ death bridged the gap between a perfect God and a fatally-flawed humanity. On Good Friday God defeated sin, routed death, triumphed over Satan, and got his family back… He took the worst deed of history and turned it into the greatest victory… Between the cross and the empty tomb hovers the promise of history: hope for the world, and hope for each of us who lives in it.’

Paul writes, in Colossians 2, that on the cross Jesus cancelled the record of wrongs against us, nailing them up. And He disarmed the devil and all the spiritual rulers and authorities at his command, nailing them down. He comprehensively triumphed over Satan. Now who has the victory?

Application:

As you celebrate with God’s people today, keep Jesus’ victory over your sin and over Satan at the front of your mind.

Parallel verses: 1 Cor 15, Matt 28:1-10, Luke 24:1-12 (Easter Sunday)

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for your sacrifice on the cross, because on the cross you nail them and disarmed the authority of the enemy who is the devil and strip him off of the key of death and life. Lord thank you for bringing us into Victory over the enemy and sin and death. Lord empower us to walk blameless and to focus or commit our lives in serving you for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Prayer for Salvation

Lord I admit I am a sinner I repent of all my sins and I receive you into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior Amen. If you mean that prayer above from the bottom of your heart you are now saved. JESUS’ SHAMEFUL SACRIFICE IS FOR OUR SALVATION (PART-1)

Sunday, 20 April 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

JESUS’ SHAMEFUL SACRIFICE IS FOR OUR SALVATION (PART-1)
‘… like a lamb to the slaughter…’ Isaiah 53:7 NIV

Today’s Insight

Apparently there’s a true account of a British electronics store that made applicants dance for each other as part of their interviews for sales jobs. ‘I just felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable,’ said Alan, one of the job hopefuls. ‘I ended up dancing… in front of a group of strangers.’ Ouch.

Poor Alan experienced the way shame makes us feel: alone, exposed, powerless. He said he felt like a fool and wished the ground would swallow him up. Who would willingly choose to feel shame in that way? Who, if they had the power, wouldn’t say ‘STOP! ENOUGH!’?

Jesus, that’s Who. Isaiah writes, ‘He was “led like a lamb to the slaughter, and… He did not open his mouth.”‘ On the cross, in the face of all that shame, of brutal torture and gut-wrenching anguish, Jesus could have defended Himself. He could have appealed to legions of angels to rescue Him. All it would have taken was a word. But He chose not to. He chose powerlessness to fulfil the perfect plans of his Father. He did it for you and me.

Application:

Thank Jesus for His willingness to become powerless so that we could know freedom. Meditate on what His example could mean for you and me.

Parallel verses: Acts 8-9, Matt 27:57-66, Ps 130, Pro 10:24-26

The Amazing Easter

Saturday, 19 April 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

 The Amazing Easter!

 ‘…Like a lamb to the slaughter…’ Isaiah 53:7 NIV

Today’s Insight

Journalist-missionary Pierre van Paassen tells how prior to World War II, Nazi soldiers arrested an aging rabbi, stripped him naked, and demanded that he preach the sermon he’d prepared for the following Sabbath. With great dignity the old man asked if he could wear his yarmulke and his captors agreed, thinking it added greatly to the joke. Then, while they jeered and prodded him, the elderly rabbi talked about what it means to walk humbly before God.

Phil Yancey writes: ‘When I read of the torture and execution of Jesus, I think of that naked rabbi standing humiliated in a police station. And I can’t fathom the indignity and shame endured by God’s Son…the bullying game of Blind Man’s Bluff in the high priest’s courtyard…the professional thuggery of Pilate’s and Herod’s guards…the catcalls of spectators up the long road to Calvary, and finally the cross itself…I marvel at the self-restraint God showed throughout history, allowing the Genghis Khans, the Hitlers, and the Stalins to have their way. But nothing compares to the self-restraint shown that dark Friday in Jerusalem…Legions of angels awaited His command. One word and the ordeal would end.’

Isaiah said, ‘He was “led like a lamb to the slaughter, and…He did not open his mouth.”‘ Jesus could have appealed to His Father, and He would have provided ‘more than 80,000 angels’ (Matthew 26:53 AMP). Instead He chose to endure the cross and its shame to save you. That’s the amazing did by Jesus and the  wonder of Easter!

Parallel verses: Acts 8-9, Matt 27:57-66, Ps 130, Pro 10:24-26

Thank you for the eternal life that you gave to us free of charge we just believe you and accept you Jesus as Lord and Savior we become a recipient of this eternal life in which you are the one offered and make your life as a ransom capital so that Lord we can now access to the Father. COMPARING IS NOT HEALTHY

Saturday, 5 April 2014

Word of Hope for Today by Bro. Rolly Custodio

COMPARING IS NOT HEALTHY
‘…But they…comparing themselves…are not wise.’ 2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV

Today’s Insight

Are you so busy analysing your vices that you don’t have time to appreciate your virtues? Or so caught up in scrutinising others that you don’t value what God has given you? God never intended you to compare yourself with anybody else. ‘Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another’ (Galatians 5:25-26 NLT).

By making comparisons, you’re implying that God made a mistake in making you as you are. Furthermore, you’re allowing others to define your worth, and giving them control over your self-esteem. That’s too much power to give anybody! ‘…so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well’ (Romans 12:5-6 NLT).

Build on your God-given talents and stop coveting what others have. God made you what He wanted you to be, redeemed you and called you to fulfil His plan for your life. Until you stop comparing yourself with others, you’ll never be able to give birth to the gifts He’s placed within you. So thank Him for making you who you are, and believe that He’s transforming you day by day into the person He wants you to become.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for your Word today. Lord thank you for I am wonderfully created by you. Lord thank you for reminding us that that we must not compare ourselves to others because each one us is unique and have a different race to run. Lord thank you for giving me talents that we may use to serve you and others. Lord thank you for giving me strength as your Word says that without a part from you we can do nothing but because of your grace and loving kindness we become followers that you want us to be. Lord give me insight to take care each other’s need and not comparing to each other. Lord continues to mold me to become mature in my dealing to others so that you can use me as an instrument of your blessings for your glory In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
